As a digital artist, I have always been interested in new technology. My work and time with graphic design and digital art has been an inspiration to explore more, such as the nature and possibilities of printmaking and the mechanics of different processes. I am interested in the cross fertilization between the digital designer and printmaker. It takes a certain inventiveness to visually achieve the overall desired form when using the computer. Certain effects are challenging to digitally produce, however there are also effects that can not be achieved any other way. My current work is composed of a collection of layered photographic imagery (digital and 35mm), scanned objects, drawings, paint, symbols, words, and other materials as well as printmaking techniques. The central theme of my work is based on human conscience; fragments of the mind. These intimate portraits or representations are composed of layered emotional states; i.e. fear, anxiety, self-identity, moral issues, sexuality and memory; conditions that are natural in us all. The style of my work lies somewhere between the nature of digital and fine art. The digital aspect of the process allows me to experiment with the reaction of images via a new technology and is the groundwork for new leaps in art and production.
